Work support, block version, self-locking – 400 bar AVBC

Double-acting - block version
Locking force at 400 bar: 18 and 40 kN

Suppl through taps or counter-bores

Support that holds workpieces in order to prevent deformation and vibrations during machining. Pneumatic control of the two positions, retracted and extended.
The self-locking support allows the following applications:
• palletised clamping
• clamping with no oil supply to the machine.
• automatic locking for safe clamping in the event of a pressure drop

• treated steel components
• rod treated to prevent seizing and corrosion
• body with anti-corrosion treatment

Supplied with plugs and O-rings

Operation

Contact force limited by spring
Rod retracted in idle position

Clamping: supply through port A
When oil is supplied through the port A the rod [1] extends till it makes contact with the workpiece, through the spring [2].
When the piston [3] reaches the extreme position, the sloping part of the radial piston [4] locks the rod [1]
The rod remains blocked when there is no pressure.

Release: supply through port B
When oil is supplied through port B the radial piston [4] releases the rod [1].
The piston [3] and the rod [1] retract.
